What is periodontology?
Periodontology is a branch of dentistry, the subject of study, treatment and prevention of which are peridental tissues or periodontal disease and their pathologies. Periodontal disease includes all the organs and tissues that are placed around the tooth: the gums, the bone tissue, where the root of the tooth is located, and the ligamentous apparatus of the tooth. The most common diseases in periodontology are gingivitis and periodontitis.
As for periodontitis, it is a disease in which the inflammation of the surrounding dental tissues is observed. But the whole seriousness of this pathology is that it is possible to lose teeth, sometimes even healthy, as the inflammatory process spreads to the surrounding tooth bone.
Periodontitis – main signs
Among the main signs of periodontitis are:
- acute pain during chewing;
- inflammation and bleeding of the gums;
- traumatic bite abnormalities, high attachment of the cords and brakes of the oral mucosa, agglomeration and abnormalities in the position of the teeth, hypertonicity of the masticatory muscles.
In order to prevent the disease from progressing, it is necessary to consult a dentist as soon as possible. The initial stages are easy to treat. These require more comfortable and non-invasive prophylaxis for the patient.
Periodontitis treatment stages
-
- The first phase of periodontal treatment is the formation of adequate personal oral hygiene and control of the result obtained. At this stage, the type of pathogenic bacteria is determined.
To determine the type of pathogenic bacteria, the doctor takes a swab from the surface of the gum. The microflora obtained is investigated for resistance to different groups of antibiotics
- In the next step, periodontitis can be removed with a closed or open curettage. In severe forms, you can immediately switch to targeted bone regeneration or treatment resection methods.
- After the completion of the surgical procedures, the treatment does not end. The patient must independently maintain a high bar of personal hygiene for the rest of his life, to come regularly to control examinations, if necessary, to perform professional oral hygiene.
Plasmolifting methodology
Plasmolifting is an innovative method that is used to restore gingival tissue, which has been affected by periodontitis. By local injection, it stimulates the gum regeneration process, removes inflammation, and restores the structure of the tissue, its appearance and healthy color.
Due to the multiple benefits of the procedure, it is used not only in the treatment of periodontitis, but also in multiple surgeries, such as: sinus lift and implant insertion. Acute and chronic inflammatory processes can also be ameliorated by the plasmolifting procedure.
Instructions for use of plasmolifting:
- Generalized periodontitis with different severity
- Local periodontitis
- Gingivitis
- Alveolitis
- Tooth extraction or implant installation
- Periimplanted
- Prevention of periodontitis
Effect of application
Following the PLASMOLIFITNG treatment course, the gingival tissue acquires a healthy appearance, regenerating. This is the last step in treating periodontitis. Bleeding and inflammation of the gums are also stopped, and tooth mobility is minimized or completely eliminated. With regard to the use of plasmolifitng in other procedures, with its help, the probability of rejection of the dental implant is considerably reduced and there is an acceleration of the wound healing process after tooth extraction.
